• What matters?

I am keen to learn and understand what you value and why.

Imagine us being a world leading city, where we were being talked about for all the right reasons.

Imagine living in a city that is on the world stage inspiring and challenging other cities to do better.

Imagine our city consistently being rated highly for its support of children and young people.

This is the imagination I will bring to the job of being Mayor of Onkaparinga.

What are you imagining for our City?

What kind of qualities are you looking for in a Mayor?

Here is my 10 point plan for a better City of Onkaparinga:

    1. Listen to all voices, not just the loudest ones.
    2. Ensure councillors have all the facts they need to make the best decisions.
    3. Encourage respectful and different points of view so we make quality decisions.
    4. Apply good judgement to financial decisions so we don’t leave an unnecessary legacy of debt to future generations.
    5. Facilitate greater community participation in decision-making.
    6. Appoint a CEO that will reflect the values of our community, so we get talked about for all the right reasons.
    7. Invite First Nations participation in decisions about ecological and economic management.
    8. Bring more transparency & accountability including supporting Council meetings are live streamed.
    9. Investigate more opportunities to work with our neighbouring councils in matters of water and waste management.
    10. Promote and accelerate our climate change response in line with the urgency of the challenges.

    I love our environment.

I am worried about climate change.

But love and worry isn't enough.
